Frequently Asked Questions

What’s involved in the reconditioning process?

All of our cars go through a thorough inspection and reconditioning process. This process includes everything from maintenance concerns (like brakes and tires), to mechanical or cosmetic concerns, to making sure you have the owner’s manual and a spare key. We want your car to be in the best condition possible when you get it, considering it’s age and mileage!

Has the timing belt been replaced?

Certain vehicles recommend that the timing belt be changed around 100k miles. It’s not always possible to know if it has been done, but we will check for you.

Does my car come with new tires and brakes?

We replace brakes if there is less than 30% pad life left (which is more miles remaining than you may think!) and tires if they are below 30% remaining (5/32nds tread).

Can I work with MATS.org if I am not in ministry?

While ministry has largely been our focus, we are here to serve everyone! Ministry drives us, but our non-ministry referrals have significantly increased over the last 5 years!

I am looking for short-term leasing information, where do I find this?
How do we get the car?

You can pick up your vehicle at one of our locations in Indiana or we can deliver. Let us know where you are and we can give you a delivery quote to a major city near you!

At what point am I committed to buy?

When we find your car, we ask for a $500 deposit that goes towards the price of the vehicle and gives us the “green light” to buy your new car.

Does MATS.org take trade-ins?

Yes! Send us some pictures, the VIN, mileage and any issues that you are aware of cosmetically or mechanically and we can give you a quote.

Do you provide financing options?

Yes! Click here to get pre approved and a quote on terms.

What fees are on top of the purchase price?

The only additional fee from MATS.org is a $99 documentation fee. However, be aware that local and state taxes will be paid when you register the vehicle, unless you pick up in Indiana. Should you choose to have the vehicle delivered, delivery fees will be extra. We can help you figure those out!

What type of warranty does Mats.org offer?

MATS 50/50 Warranty

We’ve got you covered!

Within the first 30 days of ownership, MATS will cover 50% of the total cost of repair of any normal operations failures such as sensors, motors, switches, transmission, transfer case, fuel injectors, window regulators, fuel pumps, water pumps, etc…

The warranty does not include incidentals (windshield damage, flat tire, etc…), owner mishaps, or regular vehicle wear & tear.

This 30 day, 50/50, warranty, goes into effect on the day your vehicle is delivered.

Parts and Labor Disclaimer: MATS has the right to negotiate with your local automotive repair facility on the price to fix your vehicle. If they are out of bounds (or exceedingly high relative to market), we reserve the right to negotiate with them or pursue other lower cost alternatives in your city.

MATS Reserves the Right to Turn Down “Suggested” Work: We want to protect your interests and we stand behind our work. If your local repair facility finds additional “problems” with your vehicle, after it has passed our quality inspection, we have the right to turn down paying for the additional work, if we think it is a gimmick or scam. Unfortunately, This is quite common. Mechanics get paid to fix problems
and often they are paid to find “problems” to make money. Just because they say there is an issue, doesn’t mean there is.

All agreed upon work must be completed within 30 days in order to be reimbursed by MATS.

What to do if you need to utilize the warranty:

  1. Contact the MATS Vehicle Services Manager as soon as possible (not your
salesperson). Do NOT make a repair before speaking with our Vehicle Services
    Manager.
  2. The Vehicle Services Manager will advise you to contact your local trusted
    automotive repair facility.
  3. Have your repair facility contact the MATS Vehicle Services Manager for approval.
  4. The Vehicle Services Manager will work with your repair facility to get you back on the
    road as soon as possible!

*MATS 50:50 warranty does not apply to AS-IS vehicles
